Obituary of Walter R. Shoemaker

Walter R. Shoemaker of Westtown, N.Y. passed away on October 22, 2018 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown.  He was 82.

The son of the late Walter and Virginia Tyler Shoemaker, he was born on October 21, 1936 in Middletown, N.Y.

Walter was a former Milkman for Shoemaker Dairies for many years and was a retired employee of the County of Orange.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed stock car racing and was a great cook.

Survivors include his companion for over 50 years Charlotte Hicks.  His children Patty Miller and her husband Stephen; Walter W. Shoemaker and his wife Margaret; Thomas Shoemaker and his wife Angel; and Neal and Dennis Hicks all of Middletown, N.Y.  His sister Virginia Kirschenman and her husband Wayne of Bakersfield, CA.  His grandchildren Melissa; Denise; Amanda; Carly; Amber; Tyler; Jessica; Jennifer; Wayne and Neal.  His six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Tyler Shoemaker.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
