I served with Dieter in the 48th Infantry (1959-1960). He was a kind and generous friend, who invited me to spend a day in his home at Koblenz Germany where I met his parents and sister. A few years ago I and my wife were privileged to spend a few days in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia with Dieter and Inge. My condolences to Inge and to his family.
