Obituary of Joseph J. Gannon

Joseph J. Gannon, a retired Detective for the New York City Police Department and long time resident of the area died on Friday October 11, 2013 at home. He was 77.
The son of the late Joseph P. and Agnes Gannon, he was born on October 18, 1935 in Yonkers, NY.
Joseph was a special investigator for Medicaid fraud for the N.Y. S. Attorney General's Office and later became Chief Investigator for the Orange County District Attorney's office. He was a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge and St. John's RC Church in Goshen. He was a US ARMY veteran during the Korean War era.
He was the widower of Frances Gannon.
Survivors include his children Joseph J. Gannon Jr. of Jersey City, NJ; Patricia Musumeci and her husband John of Goshen; AnnMarie Carrig and her husband Matthew J. Carrig III of Marlboro, NY; his wife: Rose Reidy of Middletown; his grandchildren: Michael Joseph and Christopher John; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Dias; Jack and Jean McDermott; Kathleen Hornebaker; Josephine Brady; Joan Amato; Eileen and Sal Colonna; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 AM on Monday October 14, 2013 at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel, Inc. 107 Murray Avenue Goshen, NY 10924
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday October 14, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist RC Church in Goshen.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
