We met Lois when she joined the Association of Native Americans (ANA) where
we gather with friends once a month, feasting drumming, dancing, singing
and sharing stories together. Lois traveled a long way to get there as it is in
Bloomington, New York. We were drawn to her warmth and enthusiasm for
the native way of being in the world and, like everyone else, soon became friends with her. Lois's spirit will always grace our gatherings. Her stories about her close encounters with the bears who traveled near her house were amazing and stayed with all of us and will continue to be told by us over and over. Lois was a beautiful woman who shared her life with us and also her passing--we sang and drummed with her only 2 weeks ago in her home. We saw the love her family--especially her grandchildren had surrounded her with. We will always bless her memory. Thank you Lois, for being in our lives. David and Henny Wise
