Obituary of Jennie R. Stancher

Jennie R. Stancher of Middletown, a retired teacher at Mechanicstown School in the Middletown School District and a lifelong resident of the area, died on March 23, 2015 in Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Cosimo and Carmella Donetta Romanelli, she was born on February 23, 1928 in Middletown, New York. She was a graduate of Oneonta State and received her master's degree from SUNY New Paltz.
A family statement read: "Many thanks to Dr. Frutcher and Jill for the many years of taking care of Mom."
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown. She was a member of the Lenten Sewing Club in Middletown. She was a member and past Chairwoman of the Town of Wallkill Republican Committee. She was a member of the "First Friday Club".
Survivors include her husband Raymond L. Stancher at home. Her children: Adrienne Bidlack of Middletown and Stephen Stancher and his wife Lisa of Draper, Utah. Her grandchildren David Tatarek; Elaine Adams and her husband Joe; Christopher Taterek and his wife Renee and Ross Stancher. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Aldo; Frank and Cosimo Romanelli and her sisters Aldina Salvati; Ada Gianotti; Inez Cox and Irene Kozak.
Visitation hours will be held on Thursday March 26, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday March 27, 2015 at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Middletown, N.Y.
