Obituary of Earl Baker

Earl W. Baker also known as "Smokey" of Otisville, N.Y. passed away on September 2, 2023 in Garnet Health Medical Center. He was 81. The son of the late Frederick M. Baker Sr. and Carlys Cutlip Baker, he was born on June 17, 1942 in Paterson, N.J. Earl worked for the NYS Biotech Lab in Otisville, N.Y. and after it closed, he worked for Sorrento Cheese Factory in Goshen, N.Y and did yard work for people. He was a member of the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, the Otisville Fire Co., Elks Lodge, Lions Club, the Shriners, Hoffman Lodge 412 F&AM and Queen Esther Order of Eastern Star. Earl was always ready to help no matter what the job was to be done and no matter how long it took. He was there. He had a heart of gold and loved to help people. Earl was predeceased by his wife Geneva Crooks Baker. He is survived by her brothers Raymond (Betsey) Baker of Cold Spring, N.Y.; Frederick (Mary) Baker Jr. of Otisville, N.Y. and his sisters Freda (Bob) Clawson of Otisville, N.Y.; Darlene (Gerald) Allen of Tennessee and Sandra (Werner) Hansen of the State of Florida. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be held on Friday September 8, 2023 from 4-7 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 9, 2023 at 10 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Plains Cemetery Otisville, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Otisville Fire Company or Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties.
