Dear Joe, Family and Friends,
I am so sad to hear of Jutta’s passing. For so many years she was a central part of life in the Epidemiology Dept. No one ever accused Jutta of being “soft-spoken.” We didn’t have to guess what Jutta thought about anyone or anything. But in the more than twenty years we collaborated, I never heard her say a mean or hurtful word. She was so completely open and honest and caring and empathic that everyone who knew her, trusted her and loved her. Whether working together on a paper or calling together a departmental union meeting, she could be counted upon to get the job done with dedication and enthusiasm. She enriched my life along with the others she worked with. I feel fortunate to have known her and to have been her friend.
