Obituary of Bernice Deserto

Bernice "Bernie" Deserto of Middletown, a former dispatcher for the Middletown School District and a longtime resident of the area, died on August 18, 2018 in Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 81.

Bernie passed with peace and grace with her family at her side. She was a loving, devoted mother, and she was always there whenever anyone needed a helping hand. Her stern demeanor was always followed by a kind and warm heart. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all that knew her.

The daughter of the late Mark Patrick and Jennie Kittle Brennan, she was born on November 4, 1936 in the Town of Dickinson, N.Y.

She was the widow of Paul A. Deserto.

Survivors include her children Richard Brennan and his companion Arlene of Middletown; Paul F. Deserto and his companion Tracy of Pine Bush, N.Y.; Margaret A. Deserto of Pine Bush and Mark E. Deserto and his wife Natalie of Mesa, Arizona. Her grandchildren Carissa and Alicia Tironi; Katie, Amy ; Nick; Elias and Gavin Deserto. Her sisters Karen; Marta and Judy. Her brothers Patric; John; Ralph and Charlie. Her sister-in-laws Ann Henderson; Gwen Deserto; Jean Deserto; Janet Deserto and Angie Hovencamp and her husband Russ and many nieces and nephews.

As per Bernie's wishes there will be no services held.

The family would like to thank and express their appreciation to the staff at ORMC for their kindness and care.
