Obituary of John E. Mills

John Mills, died Sunday September 21, 2014 in Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 81.
The son of the late Howard and Mabel Mills, he was born on August 20, 1933.
John was an owner of Mills Brothers Orchards in his younger years, and then was employed by Wilkins Cabinets in Scotchtown for several years. He then became a partner in Mills Heights, Inc., he later retired and became sole owner of Tower Drive Associates.
John became an Eagle Scout at the age of 18, with Troop 52 sponsored by Webb Horton Presbyterian Church. In 1973 he became Scout Master for Troop 53, sponsored by Scotchtown Presbyterian Church. He was a most devoted and successful scout leader.
John's devotion and caring for Scotchtown Church was always a priority in his life. He was an Elder and served on the Board of Session, Sunday School Superintendent and in charge of the Building and Grounds for the Church. He was also a member of the Church Choir. The Lord was always first and foremost in his life.
The family wishes to Thank John's three doctors for the wonderful care he had over many years. Dr. Goddard Lainjo, Dr. John McDermott and Dr. Syed Nasir.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-seven years Janice Coddington Mills at home. His children Stephen Mills and his wife Victoria of Middletown; Laurie Mills Kilby and her husband Robert of Pennsylvania and Jeffrey Mills of Maryland. His three grandchildren Clinton and his wife Becky, Dustin Mills and Michelle Schane and her husband Jessie. His brother Howard Mills and his wife Patricia of Scotchtown and his sister Virginia of PA. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Jane Coddington of Montgomery and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Elizabeth.
Visitation hours will be held on Thursday September 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 26, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Scotchtown Presbyterian Church 367 Blumel Rd. Middletown, N.Y. Burial will be in Scotchtown Cemetery.
