I met Barbara almost eight years ago as a result of problems in my community. Barbara was the President of the Town of Wallkill Police Community Council. Her enthusiasm and commitment was immediately felt and she soon had me setting up a block watch and joining her and her executive board in a mission of helping to ensure the safety of our community. Her energy was contagious, you could not miss it if you were ever in her presence; she made everyone better at what they were doing. I admired that and we quickly became friends. Barbara had a big heart and she freely shared her life, her family, and her friendships. If you knew Barbara, you also knew her family and friends, especially her son “Jay” who was her heart and soul. She treasured her relationships and she made special efforts to let you know that you were important to her. Over the years, she did so much for me, and I will never forget our trip to Las Vegas, our evenings at the casino, lunches, dinners, funerals, illnesses, and community events. She leaves a space that will never be filled. I will miss my dear friend. Rest In Peace Barbara. Love Always, Debra
