Obituary of Eunice V. Thomas

God has called his daughter home. Our beloved mom, Eunice Valerie Thomas of Westtown died Friday, September 12 2014. Eunice was born in Trinidad to Alberta and Solomon Joseph. She came to the US in 1991 with two of her children. Eunice was a certified nursing assistant. She worked at Middletown Park Manor and Orange Regional Medical Center. She was the matriarch of her family, and she loved to spend time with her family both here and in Trinidad. She was a great cook and a woman of God who enjoyed worshipping at Orange County Gospel Fellowship in Goshen. Eunice is survived by former husband Neville Thomas of Trinidad, Daughter Avion Thomas- Walsh and husband Michael Walsh of Westtown, Daughter Gill-Ann Kelly of Valley Cottage, and Son Kent Thomas and wife Elizabeth of Miami FL. Grandmother of Carmichael Thomas and wife Jessica Capo of Middletown, Cayleigh and Cassandra Walsh, and Toni and TJ Thomas. Sister of Isabella Balcon and Clive Joseph of Trinidad. Great grandmother of Catori Thomas. Aunt of Jennifer Walls and Miguel Mojica of Wappingers Falls, Kern Mojica and wife Amy of Yonkers, Carlos Mojica of Trinidad, Lester, Steve, Kenrick, Eric, Derek and Loughlin Huggins of Florida, Lystra, Mercia, Nicholas and Jessel Huggins of Virginia, Erica Leben of NY, Richard, Roland and Randy Balcon of Trinidad, Cheri and Cydney DeLaRosa of Florida. Niece of Beulah Thomas, and many other relatives in the US and Trinidad .Predeceased by daughter Christine Thomas, and grandson Christian Thomas, sisters Sylvia Huggins and Cynthia Joseph, and brothers, Carlton and Joe Joseph. Our family would like to express our gratitude to our church family at Orange County Gospel Fellowship for their continued love and support. Friends are invited to visit in celebration of Eunice's life on Tuesday, September 16 from 6-9 pm at Ralston- Lippincott –Hasbrouck- Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main St, Middletown , NY. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday September 17th at 1:00 pm. Pastor Shellie Sampson III will officiate. Burial will follow service at Ridgebury Cemetery, 671 Ridgebury Rd (corner of Ridgebury Hill Rd), Slate Hill NY.
