Obituary of Karen Pender-Whalen
Karen Pender-Whalen dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and loyal friend to many, passed January 11, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer and other medical complexities. She was 67 years young and a 10 year resident of Greenwood Lake, NY.
She is survived by her brother, Scott Pender and wife Brenda Pender, and sisters Gi Artz and husband Andy Artz, Mary Fletcher, Barbara Barrett, and Loretta Riccardelli; two daughters Kera and Stacey Whalen; son Jason Whalen and wife Czari Whalen; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend and cousin Janie Powers.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday January 16, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
