Obituary of Charles E. Smith

Charles E. Smith Middletown, New York Charles E. Smith, a retired shift superintendant for RSR in Middletown and longtime resident of the area, passed away peacefully at home. He was 74. The son of the late Lawrence and Ellen Collins Smith, he was born March 11, 1940 in Goshen, New York. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years: Joan Marie Smith at home; his two sons: Brett Smith and his wife Deborah of Montgomery, NY; Joseph Smith and his wife Rhonda of Middletown, NY; his four grandchildren: Daron Smith; Matthew Grammas; Nicolas Smith and Justin Smith. He is also survived by his brothers: Lawrence "Joe" Smith of Ohio; Lincoln "Linc" Smith of Newburgh; his sisters: Gladys "Hopie" Smith of the State of Florida; Crystal Hall and her husband Gregory of New Jersey; Luwanna "Lulu" Berringer of Virginia; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister: Sharon "Sherri" Clegg and his brother: Bruce "Jimmy" Smith. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday August 29, 2014 and from 11-1PM on Saturday August 30, 2014at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday August 30, 2014 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Middletown, NY.
