Obituary of Herman Petak

Herman B. Petak of Goshen, N.Y. a 70 year member of the United Assn of Journeymen and Apprentices of Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the U.S. and a lifelong resident of the area, died on September 19, 2017 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 90. The son of the late Joseph and Edna PadworskiPetak, he was born on August 21, 1927 in the Town of Wawayanda, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. John's R.C. Church in Goshen. A founding member of the New Hampton Fire Department. He was recording secretary for many years in Local 373 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. He was a former member of the Orange Runners Club; the Newburgh YMCA Runners Club and the American Legion. He was the widower of Eleanor Petak. Survivors include his daughters Judith Farella and her husband Michael of Hawley, PA. and Lynn Baggott and her husband Anthony of Monroe, N.Y. His four grandchildren Jennifer Diamond McGorman; Christopher Diamond; Samantha Baggott and Patrick Baggott. His three great-grandchildren Jack; Evan and Ardsley McGorman. His brother Albert Petak and his sister Theresa Petak and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Bernard and John. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday September 21, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel, Inc. 107 Murray Ave. Goshen, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday September 22, 2017 at 11 AM at St. John's R.C. Church Murray Ave. Goshen, N.Y. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Goshen, N.Y.
