Obituary of Leo S. Vitale

Leo S. Vitale of Middletown, the former owner of the Trot Inn in Goshen and a longtime resident of the area, died on August 21, 2014 in Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 95.
The son of the late Anthony and Josephine Buccula Vitale, he was born on January 6, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York.
He was a member of the BPOE Lodge 1097 in Middletown and was formerly a member of the Goshen Fire Department.
Along with his brothers Frank and Anthony, they owned and operated the Tort Inn restaurant for many years in Goshen. He retired and moved with his wife to Clearwater, Florida, where he spent thirty happy years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years Antoinette Vitale at home. His sister Theresa Forrler of Staten Island; sister-in-law Frances Giannone of Middletown. He was a loving uncle to several nieces and nephews including his niece and caregiver Elaine Morgan of Greenville and Anthony Battilora of Westfield, N.J. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Frank and Anthony and his sisters Lucy and Stella.
Visitation hours will be held on Monday August 25, 2014 from 9-11 A.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, New York.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 25, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Goshen, N.Y.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
