Obituary of Dominick J. Evangelista

Dominick J. Evangelista of Chester, N.Y. entered into rest peacefully on Monday May 22, 2017 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Warwick, N.Y. He was 75. Dominick was born on Nov. 9, 1941 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was the son of the late Dominick and Mary Lepore Evangelista. Dominick graduated from Fordham University in 1964. He was a pharmacist for over 50 years until his retirement in 2005 His pride and joy were his family and friends. He had special relationships with them all and loved them unconditionally with all his heart. Survivors include his devoted and loving wife Sonia and their children Gabriella and Anthony Evangelista all at home. His daughter Donna Smith (Gary) and grandchildren Gary and Lucy of Fayetteville, N.Y. His son David Evangelista and granddaughter Isabel of Orlando, Florida. His son Christian Evangelista and his fiancé Anna Hicks of Orlando, Florida. His sisters-in-laws Catherine Evangelista of Poughkeepsie and Krista O'Bryant of Omaha, Nebraska. His cousins Avarilla Akersand Harry Akers of Poughkeepsie and Carmine Lepore and his wife Fran of New Windsor. His mother-in-law Karin Schiemann of Greenwood Lake and several nieces and nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his brother Phillip Evangelista, his aunt Antoinette Evangelista and his cousin Fred Capuani. During his time off Dom was an avid volunteer in the Hyde Park Little League. "Mr. E" as all the players called him was a coach to many in many ways. In his later years he loved watching Gabriella play soccer and Anthony play baseball on the sidelines. He was their biggest fan. Dom was also an avid golfer. He would grab any opportunity to play a round with family and friends. His other interests included the N.Y. Yankees, Giants, going to the opera and family vacations in Cape Cod and Florida. Dominick also had a special place in his heart for Carol Seaman, mother of Donna, David and Christian. Dominick will forever be loved by his friends and family. Rest in Peace our beloved. A Memorial Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 3 P.M. at the Grace Lutheran Church 25 Waterstone Road Greenwood Lake, N.Y.
