Obituary of Robert J. Meade

Robert J. Meade of Thompson Ridge, N.Y., the retired owner of West Shore Oil Company in Walden and a longtime resident of the area, died on April 21, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 86. The son of the late Carlton and Hazel Banks Meade, he was born on October 24, 1930 in Arlington, MA. He was a longtime member of the Walden Rotary Club; Middletown Elk's Lodge 1097 and the Orange County Golf Club. Survivors include his children Robin Meade Evans (Brian) of Monroe, N.Y.; Laura Meade of Virginia Beach, VA.; Deborah Halladay of the State of Florida; David Meade of Virginia and Stephen Meade (Linda) of Missouri. His former wife and best friend Gloria Meade of Middletown. His brother Carlton Meade Jr. of MA. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren and his great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be held on Friday April 28, 2017 from 5-8 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Wallkill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
