Obituary of Michael Butchie Muer

Michael A. Muer "Butchie" Middletown, New York Michael A. Muer, a retired employee of the Town of Wallkill DPW and lifelong resident of the area, passed away Tuesday August 12, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 89. The son of the late Joseph and Jennie Scarzafava Muer, he was born April 27, 1925 in Middletown, New York. He was the widower of Mildred Muer . He was a WWII veteran of the US ARMY, as well as a crossing guard at Mechanicstown School. He was a former member of Silver Lake Fire Dept and he also played softball for Silver Lake. Survivors include his sons: Paul Holmes of Myrtle Beach; Robert Holmes & his wife Dolores of Montgomery; his granddaughters: Vicki Brentnall & her husband Alan of Montgomery; Alicia Holmes of Montgomery; his great-grandson: Robert Noel DeWitt of Montgomery; his sister-in-law: Helen Muer of Middletown; his brother-in-law: George O'Meara of the state of Florida; as well as his nieces; nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers: Frank, Dominick and Joseph Muer and his sisters: Josephine Conkling and Theresa O'Meara. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Beverly, Joey and Marty. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday August 14, 2014 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Howells Cemetery in Howells, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Lake Fire Dept. c/o Treasurer 26 Maltese Drive Middletown, NY 10940.
