Obituary of Nicholas E. Donato

Nicholas E. Donato of Greenwood Lake, a retired self-employed excavator, and a longtime resident of the area, died on February 17, 2017 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. He was 78. The son of the late Edward and Madeline Donato, he was born on December 14, 1938 in Jersey City, N.J. Survivors include his wife Veronica "Ronnie" Donato at home. His children Rene' Donatelli and her husband Robert; Nicholas E. Donato Jr.; Dawn Donato; Michel Donato and Tabatha Donato Buckley. His grandchildren Robert Jr.; Nicholas; Nicholas III; Michael; Billy; Johnny; Khrystina; Joshua and Faith. His great-grandchildren John Jr.; Khrstian and Shelby. He is also survived by his two sisters and nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be held on Monday February 20, 2017 from 7-9 P.M. and Tuesday February 21, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 10 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
