I first met Dewitt at the Expo Design Center, in Westbury, NY, in the mid 90's. The motherload of design centers we called it. I remember her as an up beat individual with a positive attitude, never letting anything stop her joy. She was selling kitchens and would come over to the top dept to finish her sale. She most often wanted me to get the credit. She looked out for me. We both had Interior designer backgrounds, with much in common, we became friends and was invited to her delightful home in Amityville. She was so colorful and interesting in her life and designs. I left the store to work closer to home and lost touch with Dewitt. I went looking for a sofa oneday and found her again. In 2016 I moved south. Thoughts of her this past week we're on my mind. I was saddened to find her passing several years ago. She has a tender spot in my heart. My condolences to Dewitt's family. She was a good fabrigéte egg with a perfect sense of humor. Love your ol' friend, Alanna

I was saddened to hear DeWitt's passing. I did her nails for 10 years in the late 80's until 1997. She would have all of us laughing with her stories and incredible sense of humor! She was a true down-to-earth loving, funny woman. My condolences to her family who she talked about a lot. May she rest in peace. One of a kind BY FAR!

DeWitt and I graduated from Middletown High School Class of 1959 together & stayed in touch on & off over the years. I recall our last visit at her lovely home around 7 years ago where she made a wonderful lunch for me & another high school friend, Yvonne DeSimone & then took us on a historical tour which was fascinating. I then saw her again briefly a few years later at her shop in Sugar Loaf. She was so remarkable..talented, funny & smart. So terribly sorry to read of her passing and I send deepest sympathy to her dear family....Joyce (Lowe)
