Obituary of Dorothy Deutsch

Dorothy Paddock Deutsch of Slate Hill, N.Y. passed away on July 19, 2016. She was 97. The daughter of the late Harry C. Paddock and Emma Louise Cooke Paddock , she was born on March 15, 1919 in Slate Hill. She married Walter L. Deutsch on March 4, 1938 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1994. Dorothy was a former Lab Tech at Middletown Milk and Cream Co. and retired as a postal clerk in Slate Hill, N.Y. She was a quiet lady and enjoyed cooking, baking and family gatherings. She was a longtime member of the Slate Hill Pacers where she enjoyed playing Pinochle. Survivors include her two children Jean Bigert of Slate Hill, N.Y. and Edward Deutsch of Seneca Lake, N.Y. Her brother-in-law Arthur Deutsch and his wife Erma of Westtown. Her grandchildren Matthew Bigert of Allentown, PA. and Brian Bigert of Slate Hill and her two great-granddaughters Madeline and Anna and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Frances, brother Dean, stepfather William Pearson, son-in-law Henry J. Bigert Jr. and daughter-in-law Betty Ann Deutsch. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Margaret's Soup Kitchen or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
