Elvira Reda, of Middletown, NY passed away on April 30, 2016 surrounded by family. She was 82 years old.
Elvira is predeceased by her husband, Antonio Reda; parents, Luigi Reda and Rosina Bastone, and brother-in-law, Luigi Gaudio. She is survived by her two children, Caroline Paglia and husband, Enrico Paglia, and Alfonso Reda and wife Antonietta Reda; as well as her five grandchildren: Gina, Anthony, Vincent, Alfonso, and Adriana. She is also survived by sister, Maria Reda; sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Joseph Bilotto; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Elvira was born in Mendicino, Cosenza, Italy on February 19, 1934. When she was young, she traveled to the United States with her husband to begin a new life for their family. Elvira was a hardworking and family-oriented individual. She worked together with her husband in the Bronx and Middletown as a tailor, dry-cleaner, and together with her family at Alfonso's Pizzeria.
Elvira enjoyed surrounding herself with close friends and family, and cooking for the people that she loved the most. She was admired for her devotion and loyalty to friends and family. Elvira will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and to those she encountered on a daily basis with an inviting and loving smile.
Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3rd the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc., 72 West Main St., Middletown, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4th in St. Joseph Church 149 Cottage St. Middletown, NY. Entombment will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
