Obituary of Joan Deserto

Joan Deserto Middletown, New York Joan Deserto, a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area passed away Wednesday February 19, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 83. The daughter of the late Stanley and Jeanette McLean McDowell, she was born on October 31, 1930 in Otisville, New York. She was the widow of Vito Deserto. A family statement reads: "She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren." Survivors include her four children: Lawrence Sheets and his wife Elaine of Milford, PA; Joyce Predmore and her husband John of Warwick, NY; Douglas Sheets and his wife Joanne of Ft. Pierce , Florida; Joseph Deserto and his wife Linda of Mt. Hope, NY; her sister: Barbara Moulton and her husband Richard of Milford, CT; her grandchildren: Larry and his wife Erika; Michael and his wife Kara; Andrew and his wife Rachel; Jeanette McDevitt; Jason and his wife Margie; Justin and his companion Jacqueline Terracino; Derek and his wife Jayme; Craig; Joseph; Jane Sicina and her husband Mike; Eric and Kevin. She is further survived by nine great-grandchildren; Brianna; Tristan; Liam; Madison; Brayden; Alexis; Spencer; Alexandra; Emma and several nieces and nephews including Kelly Nicholas and her family. She was predeceased by her son: Christopher; her two brothers: Duane and Lyle McDowell and her sister: Elizabeth Krull. Visitation will be held on Sunday March 2, 2014 from1-2 PM at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown. Services will be held on Sunday March 2, 2014 at 2 P.M. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW 692 in Middletown, NY.
