Obituary of Jean M. Griffiths

Jean M. Griffiths Middletown, New York Jean M. Griffiths, a farmer and longtime resident of the area , died Monday January 27, 2014 at home. She was 79. The daughter of the late William A. and Pearl Boyd Sullivan, she was born August 4, 1934 in Middletown, NY. She was the widow of Augustus A. Griffiths in 1971. Survivors include her sons: Augustus A. Griffiths of Cederville, Arkasas; Larry R. Griffiths(Susan) of Middletown, NY; her daughter: Jean "Tina" Thorp(Paul) of Sackets Harbor, NY; her grandchildren: Calvin Thorp(Brittiany); Michael Thorp(Melinda); Lori Starr(Stan); Larissa Griffiths; as well as ten great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: William Sullivan(Donna) of New Hampton, NY; Patricia House of Jeffersonville, NY; Eleanor Williams of Mt. Hope, NY; Arlene Moulton(Kenneth) of Westbrookville, NY; Robert Sullivan of Napanoch, NY; Kathleen Brown(John) of Sparta, TN; Donald Sullivan(J.Chris) of Pueblo, CO and Thomas Sullivan of Marshall, NC. She was predeceased by her son: Larry George Griffiths; her sisters: Helen Elliott & Pearl Diener; her brother: John "Jack" Sullivan. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday January 30, 2014 at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday January 31, 2014 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown. Burial will be in the spring at Pine Hill Cemetery, Town of Wawayanda, NY.
