Obituary of Irene Carosy

Irene Carosy of Chester, a homemaker, died on Saturday September 7, 2013 in Elant at Goshen. She was 97. The daughter of the late Steve and Mary Tomposh Arvay, she was born on December 17, 1915 in Brooklyn, New York. A family statement read: "The family would like to thank the staff of Elant at Goshen and Dr. Ramaswamy and the staff at Middletown Dialysis. She was the widow of Albert Carosy. Survivors include her daughters Alberta Egan of North Carolina and Mary Ann Pleva and her husband Leonard of Chester, N.Y. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughters Carol Ann and Margaret. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday September 10, 2013 from 6-9 P.M. at the Lippincott Funeral Home, Inc. 92 Main St. Chester, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 11, 2013 at 10 A.M. at St. Columba R.C. Church High St. Chester, N.Y. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Middle Village, N.Y. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Elant Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation.
