Middletown, New York
Margaret Hasbrouck of Middletown, NY, daughter of the late Arthur and Caroline Wisher Hasbrouck, she was born December 20, 1941 and entered into rest on August 3, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Margaret worked for Letchworth Village for 32 years. She was a longtime member of St. John's A.M. E. Zion church where she served on the trustee and steward board.
A family statement reads, "Margaret was the oldest of 20 children, having the heart of a sister, she became a big sister to those who lacked the love of a sister. She was a great protector to many. She lived with her brother Darryl and sister in law Patricia and became a huge part of their life. Her sister Lorraine unselfishly and lovingly cared for her."
Leaving to cherish her memory, her two sons Richard and Robert Hasbrouck of Middletown, NY. She is also survived by her eight brothers: Arthur (Dorothy) Hasbrouck of Virginia Beach, VA; Kenneth (Celeste)Hasbrouck; Alfred (Linda) Hasbrouck all of Kingston, NY; Eugene (Ruthann) Hasbrouck; Theodore Hasbrouck; John Hasbrouck; William (Georgeann) Hasbrouck; Darryl (Patricia) Hasbrouck, all of Middletown, NY. She is further survived by her nine sisters: Aletha (William) Henderson of Hugenot, NY; Corrine Hasbrouck; Arlene Hasbrouck; Marion Hasbrouck; Ruth Hasbrouck; Maryann (John) Lowery; Marsha Richardson; Caroline (Byron) Combest, all of Middletown, NY; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Along with her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her brothers: Gordon Hasbrouck and George Hasbrouck; her grandparents: George and Anne Wisher and Arthur and Margaret Smith Hasbrouck.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday August 8, 2013 at St. John's A.M.E. Zion Church in Middletown, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Friday August 9, 2013 at the Church. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Middletown, NY.
