MICHELE "MICKEY" FRANCES PAIGE
June 6, 1952 - July 14, 2013
Warwick, NY
On Sunday, July 14, 2013 God again has called another angel in our family home to be with our mother and father and other family members home in heaven at the age of 61 years old. Mickey went home to the Lord with her sisters by her side at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center in Middletown, NY.
Michele Frances Paige, lovingly known as Mickey or Mimi, the daughter of the late James and Frances Paige, went home to the Lord after battling a long illness of Multiple Sclerosis, complicated by pneumonia. Mickey was diagnosed with this disease at the age of 27 years old.
Mickey was a registered nurse at Arden Hill for six years, until MS forced her to stop working. Being a nurse was Mickey's passion, it was her calling. Mickey was a people person; she loved taking care of others from a young age. She had always wanted to be a nurse. Mickey graduated from BOCES with her LPN, while working at St. Anthony's Hospital. She attended Orange County Community College and graduated as a Registered Nurse.
Mickey was a member of Union AME Church of Warwick, NY. She was a Missionary under the Ida Bartow Women's Missionary Society and member of the Union AME Church Tabernacle Choir. She loved to sing praises to the Lord. Her passion was being a Sunday school teacher, as she loved working with children. She was also a Stewardess in the church.
Mickey is survived by her two sisters: Carla Harris and Patricia Davis, both of Warwick, and brother-in-law, Glenn Davis of Middletown, NY. Mickey had no children but she helped raise three children: Jennifer Schonemann-Harvey and her two brothers: Brian and Jason Schonemann, who, in her heart and soul, were her children. She also had a nephew, James Harris; a niece, Paige Harris, who is also her goddaughter. Other nieces include: Courtney Davis, Margaret Jones, Michele Varona, Frances Osborne and Jean Osborne and their families. She also had cousins: Michael Turner, Martin Turner and his wife, Dee of Massachusetts. Mickey is predeceased in death by her parents: James and Frances Paige and brother-in-law, Randy Harris.
Family Statement: Mickey had a sweet loving spirit. She loved her family, friends and her church. Mickey will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
