Middletown, New York
Beverly Gerow Hanes of Middletown, a retired clerk at Shoprite in Middletown and a former bookkeeper for Gilman's Cleaners in Middletown, entered into eternal rest on May 29, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 75.
The daughter of the late Harry and Mary Conklin Gerow, she was born on March 23, 1939 in Kingston, New York.
She was a graduate of Middletown High School. She was a member of the former Webb Horton Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was a member and secretary of the Neighborhood Watch and a member of the Republican Committee.
Beverly was a wonderful woman who loved her family, friends, her town and her country. She never missed a chance to see her grandchildren participate in sports, school plays, concerts, special occasions and graduations. She was loyal to all who knew her and she so enjoyed being with people and sharing a good conversation. The family would like to thank Orange Regional Medical Center, their nurses and doctors for their compassionate and professional care of their mother.
She was the widow of Charles Hanes, who predeceased her on May 7, 2006.
Survivors include her children: Nelson Reed and his wife Carol and Randi Reed and his wife Erika all of Middletown; Brian Reed and his wife Victoria of Port Jervis and Merri-Lynn Ecker of Middletown. Her grandchildren : Sara Drake and her husband AJ; Kyle Reed and his wife Christine; Corey, Justin, Rachel, Colin and Jessica Reed survive her as well. She is also survived by her great -grandson James and her step-daughters Georgene Steffan and Peggy Bellia and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be on Monday June 2, 2014 from 4-8 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Middletown Humane Society.
