Obituary of Ruth Davis

Ruth Davis of Middletown, a retired aide at the Middletown Psychiatric Center and a longtime area resident, died on February 5, 2013 in Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 91.
The daughter of the late John and Ella Kammerer Eickmeyer, she was born on January 3, 1922 in Baltimore, Maryland.
She was the widow of James Van De Mark and Alfred Davis.
She was a member of the Howells Congregational Church and was involved in Prison Ministry with the Church.
Ruth raised her siblings after the death of her mother.
The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Teresa's Nursing Home for the care extended to Ruth in her time spent with them.
Survivors include her daughter Joan Van De Mark Degnan and her husband John of Middletown. Her sisters Ella Eickmeyer Howie and her husband Fergus of Delaware and Joan Eickmeyer Fuller of Hobe Sound, Florida. Her grandchildren John Degnan of Boston, MA.; Kelly Degnan of Middletown; Andrea Sapp of Brunswick, GA.; Brian Davis of Phiadelphia, PA.; Scott Davis and Matthew Davis both of Flemington, N.J. and Mark Davis of Tennessee. She is also survived by her 9 Great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Janet Drey and her stepson Ronald and her brothers and sisters Calvin, Carl and John Eickmeyer and Agnes Nichols and Louise McGuire.
Visitation hours will be held on Monday February 11, 2013 from 4-7 P.M. and Tuesday February 12 from 10-11 A.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday February 12 at 11 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Wallkill Cemetery Phillipsburg, N.Y.
