Bill and Beatrice were valued friends. My wife, Ann, and I knew and occasionally visited Bill since about 1973 (we live in Florida now). Every time we would visit him, he would remind us that he prayed for us and for our ministry every day! That's amazing, and we appreciated it greatly. Most recently we were in his home last November for a light lunch and fellowship. We reminisced some, but he was interested in what was going on in our lives and in his community, and was looking forward to seeing his Savior. His life of consistency, loving his family and the Lord, and taking an interest in the spiritual development of others, has always been an example that we still value. I thank God for the good memories of Bill.

To the Wildeman Family,
My sister, Denise Schneider Patti, notified me that your Dad had passed away. I never got the chance to thank him for teaching me to play tennis. It was over 50 years ago in Slate Hill.
I in turn taught my 3 children to play tennis. All 3 lettered in high school. Two played tennis in college. The oldest became a tennis pro and taught hundreds of children this great sport not only in the US but in South America. He also donates his time coaching a girls high school team. They consistently make the state finals and many have received tennis scholarships.
This would never have occured without the love and patience of your Father. Because of his efforts of helping one young boy, hundreds of children now play tennis. I call this act of kindness, paying it forward.
As an FYI, Mike, you and I played senior league baseball together.
Paul Schneider

I was so sad to read about the passing of your father. I hope that you remember me or at least of my family. He was such a kind and giving man as was your mother. I remember when the one room Ridgebury School burned down in Dec. and we went to school in the basement of the church across the road from the burned out school. Your parents were a staple in Ridgebury in my growing up years there and I have fond memories of them. Even in your fathers later years he always had a smile and we would have a nice conversation when I saw him. He will surely be missed. Please accept my condolences John, David, & MIchael and the rest of his family. I know he will be greatly missed by all of you.
Sincerely,
Jean Van Benschoten Normoyle

John-Your Dad was a special man who was beloved by many. We always admired the way in which he cared for your mother. My Mom always enjoyed going over to their home for lunch with the "girls". He is "absent from the body and present with the Lord."

Rev Wildeman was my pastor at the Ridgebury Presbyterian Church during my growing up years thru age 19 when I left the area. I remember when he became the minister of the Ridgebury Church when I was aprox 8 yrs old...
I always looked up to him. He married many of my family members including my wedding in 1971 at the Ridgebury Presbyterian Church. I always enjoyed seeing him over the years when visiting the Orange County area. He met a great deal to me and my entire DeBlock family. He was always there for us...he was like family. God Bless.

I will always remember, back when I was in Middle/High school (early 1990s), the Summer picnics for church. It was always held at Rev. Wildeman's house in that big back yard, and we always played badminton no matter how hot it was.
Rev. Wildeman was a very kind, sweet man with a solid faith in God, always there for those who needed him. He will be forever remembered as so.
