Obituary of Rose Cortese Benton

Rose Cortese Benton of Middletown, a retired employee of Calvert Coat in Middletown and a lifelong resident of the area, died on January 13, 2013 in Middletown Park Manor. She was 82. The daughter of the late Anthony Cortese and the late Mary Catizone Elia, she was born on July 27, 1930 in Girardville, PA. She was the widow of Edwin Benton. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Middletown and the Catholic Daughters of America 681 Court Rosemary in Middletown The family would like to thank the staff of Middletown Park Manor for the love and care they provided Rose during her time with them. Survivors include her sisters Philomena O'Sullivan of Middletown and Annette Carpenter of Pompano Beach, Florida and her brother Peter Cortese of North Carolina. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to her devoted nieces Terry; Stacy; Teena and Janelle. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Sardella and Kay Mingola and her brother Dominick Elia. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday January 16, 2013 from 4-7 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday January 17, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Church Middletown, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Middletown, N.Y.
