Obituary of Marjorie Truex Sherman

Marjorie Ellen Truex Sherman of Middletown, retired from Sears where she worked in the North Street store in Middletown and the Orange Plaza, and a lifelong resident of the area, died on Sunday October 14, 2012 at her home. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Carmen Truex, she was born on July 23, 1930 in Middletown, New York. She was a 1948 graduate of Middletown High School. She married Herman Sherman at St. John's Lutheran Church on Linden Ave. in Middletown on June 19, 1949. She and Herman were active in their Church. They took their wedding vows very seriously, Herman passed away April 8, 2010 after 60 years, 9 months and 21 days of their marriage-to Death did we part.
Survivors include their children Randy and his wife Sheryl of Middletown; Leigh and his wife Helen of Glen Spey and Patti Tulp and her husband Dan of Middletown. Her grandchildren: Matthew; Heather; Heidi; Scott; Bryon; Christopher; Joshua; Nickolas; Danielle and Zackary. Her great-grandchildren: Jacob; Hannah; Noah; Noelle; Luke; Blake; Taylor; Audrey; Benjamin; Kayleigh; Madison; Austin; Logan; Christopher Jr.; and Mason. And nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her grade school best friend Evelyn Soules and also Sandy Marchetti, which she called "her other daughter". She was predeceased by her husband Herman; her parents; her brother Floyd "Coog" Truex and her sisters Shirley Truex Yanik and Mary Truex Sherman and her cousin and very best friend Beverly Shoemaker Lust.
Don't cry for me as I am now at peace and no longer suffering. I am now in the hands of the Lord and he will take me to be with my husband Herman-together again.
Visitation hours will be held on Thursday October 18, 2012 from 5-8 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 19 at 11 A.M. in St. John's Lutheran Church 391 Mt. Hope Road in Middletown. Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery Phillipsburg, N.Y.
