Obituary of William J. Patterson

William J. Patterson Greenwood Lake, New York William J. Patterson, a longtime resident and bartender in the Greenwood Lake area, died Sunday July 8, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 70. The son of the late Patrick and Elizabeth Leary Patterson, he was born on June 15, 1942 in Bronx, New York. He was the widower of Janet Patterson. He was a life member of the Greenwood Lake Elks; the Knights of Columbus and Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake. Survivors include his children: Beth Buckley and her husband Mathew of Greenwood Lake and their children: Matthew and Geraldine; Nancy Bender and her husband Michael of Greenwood Lake and their son Michael ;his brother: James Patterson of Arizona; his sister: Patricia Sandy of the state of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 11, 2012 from 7-9 PM and Thursday July 12, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Strong-Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak Street Greenwood Lake, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 13, 2012 at 10 AM at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake, followed by interment at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Warwick, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Greenwood Lake Food Pantry or Greenwood Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
