Obituary of Albert Babcock

Albert G. "Rocky" Babcock of Chester, a retired chemist with Hoffman-LaRoche in Sterling Forest, and a lifelong resident of the area, died on Thursday March 29, 2012 at home. He was 76. The son of the late Edward and Phoebe Babcock, he was born on March 15, 1936 in Harriman, New York. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Chester. Rocky was often referred to as "a Chester walker" for the many times that he could be seen strolling through the town throughout the years." Survivors include his wife Edna Babcock at home. His children Barbara Levy and her husband Mark of Salisbury Mills; Albert Babcock and his wife Barbara of Chester and Frank Babcock and his wife Susan of Slate Hill, New York. His sisters Agnes and Josephine Bird both of California and his brother William Babcock of Indiana. His grandchildren Jackleen; James; Joseph; Jason; Kayla and Jillian and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son William Babcock. Visitation hours will be held on Monday April 2, 2012 from 5-8 P.M. at the Lippincott Funeral Home, Inc. 92 Main St. Chester, New York. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 3, 2012 at 1 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Chester 96 Main St. Chester, New York. Burial will be in Chester Cemetery Chester, N.Y.
