Obituary of Dean J. Traverse

Dean J. Traverse Jr. went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2012 in Goshen. He was 54. The son of the late Dean J. Traverse Sr. and Marion H. Lippert Traverse, he was born on March 30, 1957 in Middletown, New York. Dino as he was affectionately called was a retired Inv. Sgt. for the Orange County Sheriff's Department. He also worked with the Valley Central School District Building and Grounds and was very fond of the children at the Berea School. He was an avid NASCAR fan and especially followed Dale Earnhardt Sr. and was a fan of the NY Yankees. Survivors include his mother Marion Traverse of New Hampton. His brothers Mike and his wife Terrie and their children Matthew; Jason and Mark of Slate Hill and Pat Traverse and his children Matthew and Marie of Milford, PA. His uncle Paul Traverse and his wife Nancy and their children of Inverness, FL. His aunts Vivian Traverse of Cohoes, N.Y.; Helen Lippert and Mary Jane Lippert and her companion Russ Napoli all of New Hampton. His cousin Bob Lippert and his wife Denise and their children Kelsey and Kurtis of New Hampton. His partner in the Orange County Sheriff's Dept. Rich Baxter and his wife and family. He is also survived by the love of his life Irene Romano and her children Julia and Anthony which he considered his family all of Montgomery, N.Y. He is also survived by many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father Dean J. Traverse Sr. in 2007. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 11 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Denton 22 County Route 56 New Hampton, N.Y.
