Obituary of Barbara Ann Looney

Barbara Ann (Fahey) Looney, a resident of Otisville, N.Y. died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 21, 2016. She was 82. The daughter of the late Edwin and Caroline Fahey, she was born on June 6, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York. She was employed for over 20 years at JC Penney in Middletown, New York. Barbara was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, whose gentle and loving presence was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a faithful parishioner of Holy Name Church and member of the Altar Rosary Society of the Church. She also delivered Meals on Wheels to the homebound. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, William Looney. Her children Regina Mann and her husband Norman; the Rev. Thomas P. Looney, CSC; Caroline Gillespie and her husband Paul and Patricia Romano and her husband James. Her beloved grandchildren: Brydie and Ian Gillespie and Taylor, Connor and Jake Romano as well as her extended family. She was predeceased by her parents, infant son, Michael, and her brother William Fahey. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday January 24, 2016 from 3 to 7 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main Street Middletown, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 25, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Holy Name Church Highland Avenue Otisville, New York. Burial will be held at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn, N.Y. at the convenience of the family.
