Obituary of Patricia Winship

Patricia "Pat" Winship, a life resident of Middletown, N.Y., entered into rest at home on Saturday December 19, 2015 in the arms of her loving son. She was 77 years old. Pat was born on July 24, 1938 in Middletown, N.Y. to the late Thomas Terwilliger and Nellie Fergerson. Raised by Nellie and the late Joseph Kennedy, Pat spent most of her childhood on the farm in Walden with her beloved aunt the late Florence B. Allen. Pat retired from the County Clerk's office May of 2003. She was a Heart of the Hudson Girl Scout leader in the late 70's through the late 80's, even after her daughter had finished. She was a long-time member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church as well as a "Life Member" of the Business and Professional Women's Club, known as BPW where she made several lifelong friends. Pat's big heart and kindness could be felt all over the world for people, the Earth and animals alike. She was a beautiful person who kept her friends as close as family and her in-laws like siblings. Once a friend of Pat's, always a friend of Pat's. She is survived by her son Michael Winship of Middletown, N.Y., her daughter Amy Winship-Sava of Unionville, N.Y. and son-in-law Wayne Soller of Deland, FL. She is also survived by her older sister Shirley Larson of Santa Rosa, CA. Her brother-in-laws Walter, John and Tom Winship and his wife Rose, sister-in-laws Gert and Elaine Winship and Bet Kaczmar and her husband Bob. Her grandchildren Brad, Mandi, Brent, Shannon, Joey, Jason and Lexie. Her great-grandchildren Natalie, Riley, Devin, Hailey and Skyler and so many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Celebrating her homecoming by pre-deceased is her husband of 43 years Larry Winship, daughter Lori Ayers-Soller, brother Thomas Terwilliger and his wife Joyce of CA. and brother-in-laws Charlie and Bill Winship, Jen Larson of CA., sister-in-laws Gen Winship and Roberta Mance and nephew Wayne Winship. Memorial Services will be held on December 30, 2015 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church 58 West Main Street Middletown, N.Y. around 11A.M. followed by a reception.
