Patty was my older and much wiser cousin. She was always kind, considerate, never said an unkind word about anyone, was always glad to see you (even if it had been a long time). Patty became a nun with the Sisters of Mercy at a young age because she wished to devote her life to Christ. Although she left the convent and sisterhood, I believe she remained married to Jesus her entire life. She cared for many unselfishly over many years. She cared for her aging mother Margaret. Patty lived an exemplary life and will be missed by all who knew her. Surely, if anyone, she is living the good life in heaven close to God, Jesus, and the angels.
My life was enriched by her exuberance and daring at a young age and her no-nonsense devotion to common sense and goodness. I will always remember her and can only hope that I will see her someday, as my brother Michael says, "on the other side". Please, Patty, smile down on me from heaven. Thank you for enriching my life.
All my love, your cousin, Pamela Taylor-Connors-Rhodes.
