Obituary of Evelyn Jane Rodriguez

Evelyn "Jane" Rodriguez of Middletown, the daughter of the late Clyde and Lillian Slaton was born on August 9, 1956 in Georgia. She passed away in the comfort of her home in Middletown, N.Y. on Monday November 30, 2015. She was 59. She was a kind, benevolent woman, with a great sense of humor even during her ongoing illnesses. Evelyn spent many years as a home health aide, caring for others with Competent Care. A loving single mother, grandmother and sister. She will be truly missed. Survivors include her two children Catherine and Daniel and his wife Fanny. Her granddaughter Evelyn of her namesake. Her brother Clyde Slaton Jr. of Calhoun, Georgia. Her sisters Kathleen Higgins and Peggy Slaton both of Liberty, Texas and Suzann Bernard of Middletown. Her partner in crime Stephen Fioriello of Wurtsboro, N.Y. She was predeceased by her brother William Hall. Evelyn found great joy in spoiling her only granddaughter, and taking cruises with her sister Suzann and brother-in-law Joseph Bernard who were her caretakers over the past 10 years. The family would like to thank Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties and a special thank you to Dr. Liby Mathew and the staff of Crystal Run Health Care. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday December 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 4, 2015 at 1 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Howells Cemetery in Howells, N.Y.
