Obituary of Louis F. Savarese

Louis F. Savarese of Greenwood Lake, a retired superintendant with the N.Y. City Sanitation Department and a longtime resident of the area, died on August 27, 2015 at his home. He was 84. The son of the late Ciro and Victoria Guerra Savarese, he was born on July 11, 1931 in the Bronx, N.Y. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife Audrey D. Savarese at home. His children: Anthony Guido of Queens; Michael Guido of Ocean City, N.J. ; Ann Marie Waters and her husband Kerry of Greenwood Lake and Edward Guido and his wife Denise of Goshen. His brother Anthony Savarese of Rockland County, N.Y. His sister Nellie Passamonte of Bronx, N.Y. His grandchildren: Michael; Roxann; Kerryann; Joseph; Dominic; Toni-marie; Christine; Angela; Nicholas; Marci and Marissa. He is also survived by his four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday August 30, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Strong-Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak Street Greenwood Lake, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday August 31, 2015 at 10 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Burial will follow in Orange County Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen, N.Y. The family requests NO FLOWERS, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties or St. Anthony's Community Hospital in Warwick.
