Obituary of Gertrude P. Beach

Gertrude P. Beach of Middletown, a homemaker, farmer and silk mill worker and lifelong resident of the area, died on July 9, 2015 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 104. The daughter of the late Elijah and Elizabeth Culver Perry, she was born on June 21, 1911 in the Town of Greenville. She married the late Gabriel W. Beach on June 2, 1935 and they shared 60 years of marriage. They owned and operated General Stores in Slate Hill and Johnson during the depression. They then began farming in the Town of Wallkill. Survivors include her son Gabriel R. Beach and her daughter Carol Beach Kanoff both of Middletown. She is also survived by her grandchildren; great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday July 14,2 015 from 6-8 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, New York. Funeral Services will be private. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery Town of Wawayanda, N.Y.
