Obituary of John Kelly

John (Jack) P. Kelly Greenwood Lake, N.Y. John (Jack) P. Kelly of Greenwood Lake, a retired banker with Bankers Trust in N.Y. City and former Owner of Kelly's Tavern in Greenwood Lake, died on June 13, 2015 in St. Anthony's Community Hospital in Warwick. He was 87. The son of the late Patrick and Mary Killeen Kelly, he was born on December 11, 1927 in Bronx, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church; the Greenwood Lake American Legion; the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Greenwood Lake Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife of 62 years Catherine Kelly at home. His children Michael Kelly of Arizona; Patrick Kelly and his wife Joy of Texas; Susan Taguer and her husband John of Monroe; Kathryn Kelly of Arizona and John Kelly and his wife Jessica of New Paltz. His sister Patricia Shore of Cincinnati, Ohio. His 10 grandchildren Christopher Kelly and his wife Anna ; Michael Kelly; Elise Sallee and her husband Jarrid; Jessica Kelly; Timothy Kelly; Patrick Kelly; Kelly Taguer; Sean Taguer; Julian Kelly and Sarah Kelly. His great-grandchildren Dominique and Julianna Kelly and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Winifred Kenny. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday June 18, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday June 19, 2015 at 10 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Warwick, N.Y.
