Obituary of Thomas F. Swierski

Thomas F. Swierski of Middletown, New York, loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as longtime resident of the area, passed away on July 19, 2023 with his devoted family by his side. He was 83. The son of the late Joseph and Lorraine Swierski, he was born on January 30, 1940 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in both active duty and the Reserves. He began his career at local, long-time-gone pharmacies - Pryluck's, Bay Drugs, and the Middletown Psychiatric Center. He retired from the Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center. He also served the local community and the City of Middletown as Alderman of the Fourth Ward. Tom married the love of his life, Sandra Martin, on June 2, 1968, and they shared 55 years of marriage. They had two children and adored two beautiful granddaughters. Tom was an avid lover of rock 'n roll and enjoyed listening to his jukebox, reading the paper, having a "toddy" on the front porch, and walking his beloved dog Annie. Tom is survived by his wife, Sandy Swierski of Middletown, NY; his daughter Kelly Loiodice and husband Jim of Middletown, NY; his son Scott Swierski and partner Cara Catalano of North Ridge, CA; his granddaughters, Kailee and Paige Loiodice of Middletown, NY; his brother, Ronald Swierski and wife Pat of Long Beach, NY. Numerous nieces and nephews will also cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Glubiak, and sister-in-law, Lee Swierski. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday July 26, 2023 from 4-7 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday July 27, 2023 at 11 A.M. at St. Joseph Church 149 Cottage Street Middletown, N.Y. Burial will follow with Military Honors at St. Joseph Cemetery in Middletown, N.Y.
