Obituary of Barry L. Allen

Barry L. Allen, of Middletown, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023, after a long illness. He was the son of the late Amby C. Allen and the late Irene I. Allen. Barry was born on October 17, 1947, in Erie, Pennsylvania and later moved to Middletown, New York. He worked as a Central Toll Technician for NJ Bell/Verizon and retired after many years with them. Barry was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp., enlisting after graduating high school and later serving in Japan and Vietnam. He was also a member of the Middletown Elks Club. Barry loved fishing and getting together with his buddies to play cards. He loved traveling with his wife and enjoyed their many visits to Myrtle Beach. He was an amazing cook and is fondly remembered by his grandchildren for his love of cooking for them and with them. He also had a great love for country western music. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra (Raponi) Allen of Middletown, his sister Sylvia Allen, his daughter Darlene Jahrling (Edward), his son Thomas Martine (Patricia), his son Gary Martine (Lynnley), his son Donald Martine and his daughter Tanya Messina (Frank). He is also survived by his 13 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Gabriella Martine. A Memorial gathering will be held at the convenience of the family.
