Obituary of David A. Powell

David A. Powell of Middletown, N.Y., an electrician by trade, a retired machine operator for GenPak Corporation in Middletown and a longtime resident of the area, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown. He was 79. The son of the late Samuel Powell and Eloisa Grant Powell, he was born on July 21, 1942, in the Panama Canal Zone, Panama. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Middletown, N.Y. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Francisca Gaona Powell and his four daughters, Katia Panameno, Ivett Powell, Eloisa Clarke, and Alexandra Powell. Eight grandchildren, Raissa, Christopher, Christian, Jurico, Antonio, Andrea, Natalia, & Kataleya, and a great grandchild, Zyair. He is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Eleanor Ferrante, Sandra Santiago, Elouisa Holmes-Swint, and Ralph (Marcos) Powell. He was preceded in death by one brother, Mr. Winston Powell. The rock of his family and the hardest working man ever, David walked in his faith and led his family with the example of God, Duty, and Honor always. He will forever be missed. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday November 11, 2021, from 3:00-5:00 P.M. and Friday November 12, 2021, from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday November 12, 2021, at 11 A.M. in St. Joseph Church 149 Cottage St. Middletown, N.Y.
