Obituary of Carmelo Barrientos Muinos

Carmelo Barrientos Muiños of Highland Falls, NY passed away on September 6, 2021 in Middletown Park Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was 70 years old. Carmelo was born on January 11, 1951 in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. He was raised by his beloved parents, Josefa Muiños López and Eugenio Medina Soto in Highland Falls NY. He graduated from Highland Falls High School. Carmelo pursued a military career where he served and retired from the United States Navy after 21 years of decorated service. Survivors include his son Shawn Maldonado and his two siblings Gerardo Barrientos Muiños and Margarita Barrientos Muiños, whom he was very close to. Carmelo was predeceased by his parents - Josefa and Eugenio (also known as Jimmy) and his beloved sister Elizabeth Soto. The open-casket funeral service hours will be held on Thursday, September 9th from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y. A few words will be spoken and a brief prayer conducted at 6:30PM. A funeral procession will begin the very next day on Friday, September 10th and will leave the Funeral Home sharply at 9:30 AM to the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 111 Craigville Rd. Goshen, NY where a Graveside Service will be held.
