Obituary of Giuseppina Cappiello

Giuseppina Cappiello Slate Hill, New York Giuseppina Cappiello of Slate Hill, N.Y. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 26, 2021. She was 98. The daughter of the late Vincenzo and Anna Donadio, she was born on January 6, 1923 in Naples, Italy. Giuseppina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and avid supporter to the orphan foundation. Anyone who met her witnessed the outpouring of affection and sweetness she had to offer. She loved spending time with her family and friends, feeding animals, cooking for loved ones, sewing, playing Tombola, and keeping a connection to her roots by listening and viewing the Italian channel. She was the widow of Donato Cappiello. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Sebastiano Cappiello. Survivors include her children Vincent Cappiello and his wife Linda of Stratford, CT and Kathy Gareri and her husband Egidio of Slate Hill, NY. She was adored by her grandchildren Angelo Cappiello, Egidio Gareri, Jr., Erica Walsh and her husband Benjamin, and Stefania Mika and her husband Colton. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Egidio, Adriana, and Benicio. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law Vinicia Cappiello of Italy and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass that will be celebrated on Tuesday March 30, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in Gate of Heaven Cemetery 10 West Stevens Ave. Hawthorne, N.Y. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties or a charity of one’s choice.
