Middletown, New York
Sharon L. Rose was born on March 21, 1944 in Middletown, N.Y. and went home to her Lord on January 29, 2021 at Middletown Park Manor. She was 76.
Sharon was the daughter of Gilbert and Hilda Rose. She is survived by her four brothers: Gilbert Rose of Middletown; Eugene (Joanne) Rose of Pine Bush; Stephen (Paula) Rose of Middletown and Jeffrey (Terry) Rose of Georgia. She is predeceased by her sister Judith Blair. She is also survived by her 11 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and great nephews who adored her. Sharon is also survived by her best friends, Charlene and Gary Decker of Port Jervis who went above and beyond in all the years of their friendship.
Sharon entered into the ministry as a teenager, being ordained at 17 years old. She became an assistant Pastor of the A.M.E. Zion Church for over 40 years. She served in Women's Aglow leading Bible Studies and Ladies retreats. She was the leader of the MLK Community Center and led a Youth Drum Corp called "Vibrations". She was also a participant at Shepard's Inn for many years.
Sharon retired from the Middletown School District after many years serving as a school monitor. In her later years she become the Sr. Pastor at " A Branch in the Vine Ministry" where she oversaw the coffee houses, Bible Studies, ladies meetings and Sunday services. Sharon sincerely loved the Lord and spent her life sharing that love with anyone that she could.
Sharon's family wishes to thank everyone in her life who contributed to the good times, the laughter, the sad times and the prayers throughout the years. Her smile was radiant as her love of the Lord. Peace be with you. We are going to miss you dearly.
As you prepare to attend services please be aware that NYSDOH guidelines require facial coverings and social distancing requirements must be met at all times and occupancy limits may cause delayed entry into the services. Thank you for your patience.
Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday February 17, 2021 from 12 P.M.-1 P.M. with a Funeral Service at 1 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery Middletown, N.Y.
Memorial contributions in Sharon's name may be made to St. John's AME Zion Church 103 East Ave. Middletown, N.Y. 10940.
